Border Morris Workshop, February 24th 2019

Arts Festival Session 2019

This is an excellent opportunity to try your hand, or feet, at Border Morris. 

No experience is necessary, sticks will be provided but if you have your own large white hankies that would be great.

"Exciting, Vigorous, Dynamic, & Exhausting simply to watch, Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish & Shropshire Bedlams bring energy, skill and a wonderful sense of life enhancing pleasure to the Welsh Border tradition of Morris Dancing. The workshop will introduce participants to the exhilarating delights of maintaining this unique custom."

Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish are Bishops Castle’s very own Border Morris dancers. Renowned  for their innovative, high-energy dancing, both groups also have amongst their membership a number of high quality musicians – instrumentalists and singers.  In a first for the two groups they have, with friends, put together a gala concert for the final night of Bishop’s Castle Arts Festival.
This is a one-off, never to be repeated
 event – don’t miss it!”

Ceilidhs 2019

Everyone loves a good ceilidh, especially when it’s run by The Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish, so we are putting on a number of Ceilidhs in South-West Shropshire:

26th October 2019 at Lydbury North Village Hall - Halloween Ceilidh

Boxing Day Collection 2018

The Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish would like to thank all those who so gave to the collection on Boxing Day. Thanks to your generosity, and the persuasive efforts of out collectors, £424.24 was raised for Air Ambulance.
